What Happens After I Pick a Time?
You receive a confirmation with the link for your consultation. The mental-health professional reviews your intake answers beforehand, so the appointment is a conversation rather than a form-filling exercise.
How Long Is the Appointment?
Usually about 5 minutes. Longer if you have a complicated housing situation, and the mental-health professional will take the time it needs.
Is Anything Charged When I Book?
No. Booking and the mental-health professional's review cost nothing. The fee applies only once a letter has been issued, and a declined assessment is refunded in full.
What Do I Need for the Appointment?
A quiet place, a phone or computer with a camera, and about five minutes. No documents are required.
Can I Reschedule?
Yes, from the confirmation email. Please give as much notice as you can so the slot goes to someone else.
What if No Times Suit Me?
Write to support@thehealifypet.com with the times that would work and we will look at mental-health professional availability in your state.
Do I Speak to a Mental-Health Professional Licensed in My State?
Yes. That is the whole point of the matching step — the license has to match where you live or a housing provider can reasonably reject the letter.
How Soon Will My Letter Arrive?
Within 15 minutes of the mental-health professional approving it. In California, state law requires a 30-day clinical relationship before ESA documentation may be issued, so the timeline there is longer by statute.
Is the Appointment Confidential?
Yes. The consultation runs on a HIPAA-aligned telehealth platform, and your diagnosis is never named in the letter your landlord receives.
What if the Mental-Health Professional Says No?
You are told plainly why, you keep your screening summary, and the letter fee is refunded in full. Mental-health professionals are paid for the assessment, not for approving it.
Can I Book for a Psychiatric Service Dog Assessment?
Yes. Choose the PSD option in the scheduler. A housing letter is included with a PSD assessment at no extra cost.
Can I Book on Behalf of Someone Else?
Only if you are the parent or guardian of an applicant under 18. Otherwise the person being evaluated needs to book and attend themselves.
Nothing Is Charged Until Your Letter Exists
Book the appointment, attend the consultation, and pay only if a mental-health professional issues your letter. Declined assessments are refunded in full.
