How to judge a provider
How to Tell a Real Provider From a Letter Mill
Who Signs It, and Where Are They Licensed?
If the answer is not a named professional licensed in your state, stop there.
Is There an Actual Evaluation?
A questionnaire nobody reads is not an evaluation. Ask whether a mental-health professional can decline.
What Is the Approval Rate?
A service that approves everyone is selling paper, not clinical judgment.
Am I Buying a "Registration"?
No registry has legal standing. Any charge for one is a charge for nothing.
Will the Mental-Health Professional Answer My Landlord?
Verification requests are routine. Someone has to be reachable.
What Do They Claim About Flights?
Anyone promising cabin access for an ESA has not updated their site since 2020.
Consumer warning
Several state attorneys general have taken action against websites selling emotional support animal certificates, vests and registry entries. If a service charges you for anything other than a clinical evaluation and the resulting letter, you are paying for a document with no legal effect. Ask for the mental-health professional's license number before you pay anyone, us included.
Check us yourself
Don't Take Our Word for It. Verify It.
We haven't published client reviews yet. Real ones, with written consent, or none at all — so here is the harder proof instead.
Look Up the License
Every letter carries the signing mental-health professional's license number, type and state. Every state board publishes a free public lookup.
Check the NPI Registry
Search the mental-health professional by name at npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov. It is a second, independent check.
Call Them Directly
The mental-health professional's own contact details are on your letter. Your landlord can verify with the person who signed it.
Ask Us to Say No
Mental-health professionals are paid for the assessment, not the approval. A provider that guarantees a yes is guaranteeing something worthless.
Why this page is empty of testimonials
A site whose whole argument is our documentation can actually be checked has no business publishing testimonials that cannot. When we have real reviews from real clients who have given written consent, they will appear here.
Licensed provider
The Mental-Health Professional Who Signs Your Letter
Every ESA and PSD assessment is conducted by a licensed mental-health professional. The professional who signs your documentation is identified below, with the means to verify the license.

Licensed provider
Dr. Jonathan Chance Miller, MD
Licensed Physician · Telehealth · ESA & PSD evaluations
An evaluation should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation. My job is to understand what you are living with and document it accurately — or to tell you plainly if an assistance animal is not the right answer.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is an ESA Letter Obtained Online Legally Valid?
Yes, provided a licensed mental-health professional has evaluated you and holds a current license in your state. Federal law sets no requirement that the evaluation happen in person, and telehealth is an accepted mode of practice in every state. Validity turns on the mental-health professional and the assessment, not the medium.
How Much Does an ESA Letter Online Cost?
Ours is $0 to start and $129 for an ESA housing letter covering up to two pets, once a mental-health professional approves it. Beware of the $25–$45 offers: those are almost always certificates or registry listings with no mental-health professional attached, and they are the documents landlords reject.
Can One Letter Cover Two Animals?
It can, if the mental-health professional's assessment supports both. There is no fixed legal limit on the number of assistance animals, but each additional animal has to be justified on its own terms, and a housing provider may reasonably scrutinise a request for several.
Will My Landlord Be Able to Tell It Came from an Online Service?
The letter is on your professional's own letterhead with their license details, not a marketing template. If your housing provider calls to verify, they reach the mental-health professional, who confirms the letter is genuine without discussing your diagnosis.
What Happens if I Move to Another State?
Contact us before you sign the new lease. Because the letter should come from someone licensed where you live, a cross-state move usually means a short re-review with a mental-health professional licensed in the new state rather than a whole new screening.
What Do I Need to Have Ready Before I Start?
Very little: your state of residence, your animal's basic details, and the name of your landlord or management company if you have it. No documents are required to begin.
Is There Any Charge to Complete the Screening?
No. The questionnaire and the mental-health professional's review cost nothing. The letter fee applies only once a letter has been issued.
How Will My Letter Be Delivered?
As a signed PDF by email, together with an accommodation request template and a one-page explainer for your leasing office.
Can I Get the Letter Re-Issued if a Detail Is Wrong?
Yes. Corrections and reissues are free for the twelve months your letter is live — new address, corrected spelling, an extra copy for a co-signer.
Will You Help if My Landlord Pushes Back?
Your mental-health professional answers reasonable verification requests for twelve months, and we will point you to HUD's complaint process and tenants' rights resources in your state.
Can I Apply if I Already Have a Therapist?
Yes, and you can also ask your own treating provider to write the letter. Many do not, which is why this service exists.
What Happens if I Do Not Qualify?
You are told plainly why, the letter fee is refunded in full, and you keep your screening summary.
