Look Up the License
Every letter carries the signing mental-health professional's license number, type and state. Every state board publishes a free public lookup.
Check the NPI Registry
Search the mental-health professional by name at npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov. It is a second, independent check.
Call Them Directly
The mental-health professional's own contact details are on your letter. Your landlord can verify with the person who signed it.
Ask Us to Say No
Mental-health professionals are paid for the assessment, not the approval. A provider that guarantees a yes is guaranteeing something worthless.

When Am I Charged?
After a mental-health professional has reviewed your file and issued your letter. The questionnaire and the review itself cost nothing, and we do not hold a card against a future decision.
What Happens if the Assessment Is Declined?
The letter fee is refunded in full. You keep your screening summary.
Is There a Subscription?
No. Letters are one-time purchases with a 12-month validity, and nothing auto-renews. When your letter nears expiry we send a reminder — you decide whether to renew.
Do You Offer Reduced Fees?
Yes, on request. If cost is the reason you would otherwise go without documentation, write to support@thehealifypet.com and ask about our reduced-fee places. There is no means-testing paperwork.
What Payment Methods Do You Take?
All major cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, over TLS. We never store full card numbers on our systems.
Can I Get an Invoice or Receipt for an HSA or FSA Claim?
We can issue an itemised receipt describing the clinical assessment. Whether your plan reimburses it is up to your administrator, and we cannot promise it will.
Why Is an ESA Letter Not Free?
Because a legitimate letter requires a licensed mental-health professional's time to review your history, assess you and form a professional judgment. Sites offering free letters omit that step, which is what leaves those documents worthless.
What Is Included in the Price?
The clinical screening and review, a consultation where required, the signed letter on professional letterhead, the accommodation request template, landlord verification support for twelve months, and free corrections.
Is the PSD Price Instead of or as Well as an ESA Letter?
Instead. A PSD assessment includes a housing letter at no extra cost, so you do not need to buy both.
Do You Charge Extra for a Second Animal?
Up to two pets are covered in the base ESA price. Three or more move you to the higher tier, because each animal has to be assessed and justified.
Are There Any Add-On Fees at Checkout?
No. No processing fees, no registration upsell, no rush fees hidden at the end.
Can I Use HSA or FSA Funds?
